I’ve had quite a journey trying to create the two websites which comprise our on-line businesses: Dream Mountain Studio and Ready To Build. I’ve gone down several avenues from hiring a big website company to build and host the site, to a guy who sold an on-line site builder and finally, to a private person who wanted to learn how to build websites and had a lot of technical background which she thought would enable her to master the art of website design. Suffice it to say, each of those scenarios had its drawbacks and now I have a young fellow in a town near my home who I can hire for a reasonable rate by the hour.
My last designer did great work and handed over two great sites but I needed to add some products to our offerings (offerings, I just love that word!) You can probably guess that web-tech is not my strong suit but since I have been fooling around on-line for a while now, I knew there had to be a way to do what I wanted to do without hiring someone to do it for me. So… last night, I cracked the code!
My home page was configured in a way that didn’t correlate with the rest of the pages so I surmised that the anomalous code must exist somewhere on the site. I pressed every button I could find and I’m sure I overlooked the correct one several times…but finally I found the code and was able to change out our video.
I’m stoked and now I have to tweak a few more things to have my new pages conform to the rest of the site.
